In January 2022, I cracked open a fortune cookie and discovered the above saying. I started writing my first novel the very next day.

I’ve always known I wanted to be a writer, even producing my first newspaper at the age of six with construction paper and crayons. I dreamed of being a political correspondent until a college journalism class landed me in a city council meeting, where the debate focused on a fence for goats; the next day, I switched to sports writing. Eventually, I traded Super Bowls and Olympics for travel, food and entertainment writing and the past few years, for newspaper editing in a senior community, where the residents’ stories are a daily experience in history.

Aside from some published short fiction, I have spent most of my career writing non-fiction. But Regency romance is where I live when my imagination refuses to stay quiet. The San Francisco Bay Area is where I live in the real world with my husband, two girls and two poodle-mix pups.
